English is directly descended from German. Or, more precisely, English and modern German are both descended from shared Germanic roots.

Polish, on the other hand, is a slavic language with no real shared roots with English whatsoever. For an English speaker, Polish will be a much harder language to learn.

Both languages introduce new letters and sounds.
Both languages use diphthongs.
Both languages add a third (neuter) gender.

German uses articles, Polish does not.
German nouns decline through four cases, Polish nouns decline through seven.
German verbs conjugate similarly to English, while Polish are completely different.
Polish verbs have perfective/imperfective pairs.

Polish is harder because of its more complex case system, its spelling is odd compared to Germanic languages, and being a Slavic language makes it more "foreign" to English speakers than German is.

I have no idea, but I know German is the third hardest language in the world, I think Polish would be harder, because their words are spelt stupidly.

German is much easier I believe because the sentence structure is more like the english language. I have no trouble learning it.

Polish is not far harder than German. German belongs to a different language group, so it is hard to compare.
Both languages are really difficult, but once you know and remember the rules and practise it gets a little easier. Polish has more cases and sometimes it feels as if everything declines - even personal names decline.
