What can I write on my car with?

I am leaving for Florida tonight. And we want to write on the car. Someone told me white shoe polish would be ok. And the removal wasn't hard. Would that be ok to write on my car? Or should I just forget and go to the store and get a window marker?

We used white baby shoe polish with a wide dauber tip. most larger stores carry it.
White shoe polish will be just fine, and it is cheap. Get the window marker if you want different colors.
