Hi, everyone. I would really love to learn how to write Polish (I can already read it, so no problems for pronounciation).....I mean, grammar, vocabulary......it is hard for me to study grammar rules and learn all the declensions by heart, but I find it easier to learn by reading other people's comments on youtube for example, while I make an effort to write Polish sentences with the help of dictionaries and translators. Problem is, translators don't always give the correct translations and they're not gonna explain me things.
So, if you want to, and only if you want to (I'm not forcing anyone), would you please help me learn? I learn languages fast. I understand some German, Spanish and French.
I have Polish origins so obviously I am interested in this wonderful language
I use Youtube.....My channel is: http://www.youtube.com/rockyborowczyk
But contact me only if you're a native Polish speaker....cause it's a hard language and I need the help of a native person, plus I'd like to learn it correctly.
P.S: I'm learning Czech too, so if you speak Czech too, it'd be awesome!
I can help you improve your English!
Thank you
Rocky

When i was really young i was able to speak. Right now I can understand 75% of the sentences I hear, but i can hardly speak. What would be the best approach for me to take when learning the language considering that I know a good amount of vocabulary.

11)Today’s lesson topic will stay focused on “Cafeteria”. Now, I am going to give out the lecture notes to all of you. Please pass around the lecture notes, two pieces of paper for each person.
12)I am going to introduce new vocabularies to all of you and provide the definition for each vocabulary.
13)What is “Hamburger”? Is there anybody who is able to tell me the definition of “hamburger”?
14)Please point out which word has a meaning of “punishment” on the blackboard. Penalty, Award, or Sad.
15)Let’s look at page two. I need two volunteers who are able to fill in the blank with the proper words from the word bank. If any of you have any better vocabulary beside the word bank, you can use your own word to fill in the blank.
16)Anybody who can try question one?
17)Ok. That is great. It seems that we have done a great job. Now, I need two more volunteers to read the completed dialogues aloud. You may feel free to use your own words to complete the dialogues.
Dear English teachers:
Please help me polish my expression in classroom language.
Please correct my grammar and usage accordingly
Thanks a million

After I graduate High School, I plan on attending the University of Illinois and major in journalism. I hope to pass the oral exam for the Polish language and receive a certificate, therefore as a back up plan, I will minor in language interpretation and translation. Currently I am also studying the Spanish language which will greatly expand job opportunities for me in the near future. Polish school has been a wonderful as well as an educational experience for me which I will never forget.
Please do not type this into Google Translate or any other online translator, the conjugation is all wrong. I know how to translate this paragraph, but I am having trouble with some of the vocabulary like how to say "major in" and "minor in" in Polish? I gave you the whole paragraph so you'd get what I'm talking about. lol
Thank you in advance.

Where should I begin?
what order should I learn the vocabulary and grammar stuff?
Should I memorize some vocab first, or learn about the grammar?

I would like to attack all of them one day, but as for now I am learning Russian and Mandarin, so I can only add one more language to my current list.
Polish
- Most speakers
- I found Russian easy so far, so its grammar should also be pretty easy
- Economically a top upcoming nation of the EU?
Slovenian
- Less speakers, so I may have some unique opportunities it one day
- I find its grammar to be the most intellectually interesting
- Seems like a pretty nice place to live in, the nation seems decently wealthy
Icelandic
- Very few speakers (less than a million), but still exerts importance on economy
- Iceland is apparently a big place for green energy, which I would like to work on one day
- Should be easiest for an English speaker
What say you? Help me choose!
You are right, but Icelandic and English's basic vocabulary should still be more similar, as they are both Germanic.

i've been doing polish for a month and ive finally got to the point where i can form a sentence like: Czemu ktoś myślałby, żeby polski był trudny? Bez wątpienia, ludzie tylko przesadzają, kiedy mowią że będzie wam trudno uczyć się polskiego..(i'll be glad if someone could correct me on this) i can form such sentences within 10 seconds (including with those with any declination), with fragmented utterances in between (but only mentally; speaking it to an actual Pole would be harder, I imagine). I've been learning polish for a month, and i learn pretty fast...however i have no idea what the next step is. I have finished 2 polish teach-your-self books from the library (they complemented each other very well coz' some of the grammatical info missing from one book would be there in the other). At the moment, my vocabulary is still kinda limited (I know przesadzac, and presadzic but don't know the polish for 'to punch' or 'dishes') but I have a dictionary but I'm not sure where to start improving on.... What do I do next (without spending money)?

I will be getting married this year in October. My fiance was born in Poland and speaks the language fluently. If we are at his parent's home Polish is the chosen language to speak. I however, have a VERY limited vocabulary. Seriously, I only have about 5-10 words that I can speak well. As a surprise to my groom and his family, I would like to repeat my wedding vows to him in Polish. I know that I could sit and look up the words one at a time, but would it make sense? And how do I know if I'm pronouncing the words correctly? In my experience with Polish, many of the words look much different to me on paper than I would assume they would appear when spoken aloud. I just would like some ideas on what I need to do to translate and speak the Polish vows beautifully. I know this would be meaningful to my fiance and his family.

I can also identify (but not fully translate) Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, German (I know a few words in German as well), Spanish (identical to French in grammar structure and some vocabulary), and a bit of Brazilian Portuguese.
What jobs can I look forward to?

I wanna polish my Filipino grammar and build my Filipino vocabulary (because it's a shame naman that I don't speak my native tongue fluently). i'm fil-chi but I'm more fluent in English >.< I was wondering, what books could help me do that? I was thinking: books by Efren Abueg, Edgardo M. Reyes (those are the authors in my HS third year textbooks)..but I can't find them anymore anywhere!
I tried reading Bob Ong's MACARTHUR but it wasn't my thing...so I guess that rules him out.
Ayaw ko rin ng local/native setting. Those settings really depress me! It's very hard to choose Filipino books...because majority of 'em are set in native provinces... I want to read a Filipino book that I could relate to.
And I also DO NOT like the romance books they sell in National Bookstore! (Yung Filipino version ng Mills and Boon!)
Of course, Eli Fili and Noli are out of the question! (Truth is, masyadong malalim yung Tagalog dun para sa akin)
btw, in case it helps, i'm currently 16.

My friend speaks fluent Polish, but struggles with English. I want to learn Polish so that we can talk more easily. What are some good websites with Polish lessons that are FREE? I'd like to learn at least the equivalent of a high school Polish 1 course- verbs and nouns, grammar, vocabulary, etc. Something of the http://www.studyspanish.com caliber would be ideal! So... free polish lesson websites with lots to learn. Thanks!
Thanks for your help! Those are great, especially the last one which is exactly the sort of thing I had in mind.

The line chart above describes the gradually increasing trends regarding the number of visiters to and from UK
It can be clearly seen from the graph the tourists travelling to and from UK registered the figure of 10 million and around 12 million respectively in 1979,then they undergone a slight increase until to 20 million for British visitors going abroad and roughly 13 million for overseas visitors to the UK.From that moment on,there was a substancially growth in numbers for British tourists, hitting its highest point of 52 million in 1999,compared with their counerparts tho saw a steady rise to 28 million in 1999.
Thy accompanying table graph gives us details regarding the most popular countries for UK residents in 1999.Remarkably,France,followed by Spain were the most preferred destinations for them at around 12 million and 9 million respectively.By contrast,Turkey ,Greece, and USA were the least popular destination with fewer than 4 million was recorded.what remain remarkable was that the amount of people travelling to Turkey(about 1.5 million) was 10 times than that for France.

I help out in a nursery where we look after a number of Polish children. I've learned a fair amount of basic vocabulary but would like to be able to encourage them to share.
Please could anybody tell me what "share" is in Polish, and how to pronounce it.
Thank you

I'm in high school and learning Spanish, but I REALLY would like to learn Polish (one day I hope to visit a friend who lives in Poland). For now I've just been printing out some basic Polish phrases and travel vocabulary. Does anyone have suggestions for the best way to learn Polish? Should I go to a class, buy a software program... etc. I'm not looking for a quick and easy way, I'd really like to learn the actual language, not just phrases.
It'd be awesome if your answers were from personal experience with the Polish language.
