Learning Polish?

Since I'm partially Polish, I've been studying it. But it's so hard! Oh my gosh, I can pronounce everything but when I try to put it together in sentences or try to say more than something like "Dzien dobry" I get lost. How can I learn it better? (My grandpa spoke it when he was younger. No one else in my family does..)

Why do endings of nouns change in Polish?

in the sentences "chlopiec na stole" (boy on bench) i "chlopiec pod stolem"(boy under bench) , why does the word for bench (stolem) change form? and instead of "dziewczynka i kon" why do you say "dziewczyna i kon"?
i love learning polish, but those rules confuse me!
( sorry i dont have the letter for "w" on my keyboard!)
"dziewczynka i koń" "dziewczyna i koń"?

sorry i spelled horse wrong!

I have been trying to find something that i can learn polish with. i heard about rosetta stone and i heard it really didn't work that well. so im looking for something to teach me grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary, also how to pronounce things and put sounds and sentences together. so please i would like some recommendations on cheap things that can help me.

Hello! Anyone can help me learn Polish?

Hi, everyone. I would really love to learn how to write Polish (I can already read it, so no problems for pronounciation).....I mean, grammar, vocabulary......it is hard for me to study grammar rules and learn all the declensions by heart, but I find it easier to learn by reading other people's comments on youtube for example, while I make an effort to write Polish sentences with the help of dictionaries and translators. Problem is, translators don't always give the correct translations and they're not gonna explain me things.
So, if you want to, and only if you want to (I'm not forcing anyone), would you please help me learn? I learn languages fast. I understand some German, Spanish and French.
I have Polish origins so obviously I am interested in this wonderful language :)
I use Youtube.....My channel is: http://www.youtube.com/rockyborowczyk

But contact me only if you're a native Polish speaker....cause it's a hard language and I need the help of a native person, plus I'd like to learn it correctly.

P.S: I'm learning Czech too, so if you speak Czech too, it'd be awesome!

I can help you improve your English!

Thank you :)

Rocky

I have two sentences in Polish that I want to learn so I can impress my Polish friends but there are a couple of words I do not know how to pronounce (these words will have a * next to them)...

Chcesz* pojsc* na piwo jutro?

Kiedy chcieliby* pojsc* na piwo?

Thankyou to anyone who can give me some help!!

Native polish speakers, Polish translation?

Hey, my mother tongue is English but I want to learn Polish. They don't do it at school and I can't buy cd's or anything, please help? I've been on youtube but it's basic, I want to speak Polish how Polish people speak e.g in England: Hello, how are you? Not many people say it, it's normally, 'alright? Hows you?' if you get me lol but any sentences or anything in English, Polish with phonetics would be much appreciated, thank youu! =)

Learning how to speak Polish?

When i was really young i was able to speak. Right now I can understand 75% of the sentences I hear, but i can hardly speak. What would be the best approach for me to take when learning the language considering that I know a good amount of vocabulary.

I would love to learn Spanish. My native language is Polish and my English isn't that bad.
Do you think it's possible to learn Spanish online? Just basic sentences and a way to carry on a decent conversation. I will have to take Spanish for 2 years at a university but I would like to jump start the process.
If you tried learning other languages online:
How was your experience? Did you learn a lot? How long did it take you?
Thanks

More Polish translations please!?

I work with a year 6 boy who naturally speaks polish, he is really struggling with his literacy lessons at the moment, could anyone translate the following sentences into polish to make the work more accessible for him... Thanks

Adverbs are words that are used to describe other words such as quickly, softly, happily.

Task: Write some sentences including adverbs.
For example: The man ran quickly through the forest.

Hi there,. I'm not a native speaker, and I am now applying for graduate schools. I hope someone can help me correct the sentences in my statement of purpose. Thank you very much!!!!!

I have an inborn enthusiasm for automotive engineering. I started to learn to repair automobiles when I was thirteen, since my first motorcycle, Suzuki TS 50 got piston seizure. The deep roaring of four stroke engines, the sharp screaming of two stroke engines, and the lethally attractive smell of gasoline, are the enjoyment that God bestow on me. The professional knowledge of mechanical engineering I learned in my undergraduate courses firmed my determination to pursue a profession related to motorsport engineering.

Two Polish math professors and their students spun a Belgian euro coin 250 times. It
landed “heads” 140 times. One of the professors concluded that the coin was minted
asymmetrically. A representative from the Belgian mint said the result was just by
chance. Do your own analysis. Write a few sentences explaining your conclusion.

English to Polish translation please?

Can you please tell me how i can say the following sentences in polish?

How many languages can you speak?

Me: 1 fluently (English)
French at almost A-level standard
A few sentences/phrases/random vocab of Polish (nearly enough to get around as a tourist!)
and random words/phrases from about 16 other languages that I've just picked up everywhere! :) I love learning languages!!!

And what is your favourite language to speak?

Can someone do a polish translation?

can someone translate these sentences for me into polish, im brain dead and i need to know:S:S

" last sunday, my family went to my uncles house for thanksgiving dinner"

" on saturday i had my second lesson of driving school"

" this whole week i had alot of homework"

"on friday i went out to the movies with my friend"

"today, many universities came to my school to talk to us about next year"

i've been doing polish for a month and ive finally got to the point where i can form a sentence like: Czemu ktoś myślałby, żeby polski był trudny? Bez wątpienia, ludzie tylko przesadzają, kiedy mowią że będzie wam trudno uczyć się polskiego..(i'll be glad if someone could correct me on this) i can form such sentences within 10 seconds (including with those with any declination), with fragmented utterances in between (but only mentally; speaking it to an actual Pole would be harder, I imagine). I've been learning polish for a month, and i learn pretty fast...however i have no idea what the next step is. I have finished 2 polish teach-your-self books from the library (they complemented each other very well coz' some of the grammatical info missing from one book would be there in the other). At the moment, my vocabulary is still kinda limited (I know przesadzac, and presadzic but don't know the polish for 'to punch' or 'dishes') but I have a dictionary but I'm not sure where to start improving on.... What do I do next (without spending money)?

Need help with Polish language?

how would one translate the below sentences to Polish, in a colloquial manner?

1.) i po co się tak napracowałem?(what does it mean)
2.) that's some fast typing
3.) that's some nice car you've got there
4.) He's not only got a Mercedes, he's even got a Jaguar.......and a Ferrari
(more concerned on how to translate not only does he have.....but also.. in the most natural colloquial way)
and also whether I just add ........i nawet Ferrari, or is 'no i nawet Ferrari' better...I dunno:D
5.) My watch doesn't show me the date at all
(is 'zegarek wcale mi nie pokaże data? or
'na moim zegarku nie pokaże się data'?...or....
6.) Go, Federer! (should I put Federer in the vocative case?)
7.) Is za broń stressed on 'za' or on 'broń'? (from chwytić za broń)
8.) Yes, exactly, and actually I'd say the same about myself
9.) He's probably too shy to describe his girlfriend
10.) Can I describe my girlfriend now? .....sure, go ahead (someone told me Poles would say 'describe!' instead, I don't trust him)
11.) Hydrophobic

and what's would a Pole say to someone who've
arrived a lot later than expected (like in English, they
would say, 'what the hell took you so long?')

I know that was a lot, but I really want to master how to express things without sounding like a textbook, in Polish. Full points obviously for the first helpful answer. Dzięki stokrotnie!
correction with 10.)
it should have been:

do you want to hear a joke? sure, go ahead

Well, in October (which is in four months) I might go to Polonia!

My daughter is getting married and somehow I got the task of planning her surprise wedding shower. Since almost every woman at the shower will be Polish and our family is not, I want to play one shower game with written instructions in English and in Polish. My idea is to have a large bowl of candy hearts on a table and the guests have to guess how many candies are in the bowl in order to win a gift basket. Therefore, I need to know which of the following sentences is correct. I got these versions from the internet (free English to Polish translations). I have no idea which is the correct one to use for the two signs that I am making. I'd hate to embarrass myself and my daughter by writing the wrong words. Please help!

ARE THESE CORRECT?
Guess how many candies are in this bowl for a prize.
Zgadnij, jak wiele cukierkow sa w tym miska dla nagrode.

I appreciate your help but I really need to hear from someone who speaks Polish fluently. I've tried the free online English to Polish translators (such as http://www.poltran.com/pl.php4) and they are not grammatically correct, so I've been told).
Kelly, that suggestion would be really appreciated. The shower is a couple months away so I've got time to prepare.

I have been trying to learn Polish language for a year, and I know the alphabet, colours, most animals and fruit and vegetables and basic sentences, but i cannot understand the verbs at all...
