I have a strong Polish background in my family and I want to find the Polish word (and phonetic pronunciation?) for baby as a term of endearment for my boyfriend. Does anyone know it?

My parents named my little sister "Nelleke" (my family's part Dutch) - my Polish grandfather died when I was very little, but I do remember him saying that that name sounded a little bit like a word or name for a flower in Polish. Does anyone who knows Polish have any idea what flower he could have been talking about?
Any Polish word at all that sounds like "Nelleke" or "Nellke"? We were talking about it this morning and we're trying to figure it out.
