My Polish friend is having a really tough time right now, and I want to give him some encouragement. What’s the Polish equivalent phrase to "don’t give up", and how is it pronounced?

The thing is, I want to speak in Polish to him, and I also want to use whatever phrase they’d use in Poland -- exactly like a Polish person.

Please help!! Thanks so much. :)
rakdos11 -- very funny. I'm not stupid, you know. Also, I presume you mean "Matka".

Crystal_Cupcake -- thank you very much!

I know there seems to be some controversy about it.

Thanks.
I know in a recent Polish census 200,000 people put Silesian as their nationality rather than Polish.
I used to teach English in a city near Katowice and once I went to Katowice with a Polish friend and was told that some people in Katowice speak a different language (I think I was told German but in fact I guess it's Silesian)
I used to live and work in Sosnowiec, which basically is almost a suburb of Katowice..

Quastion: "by" in polish?

hello (:
I've been "selfstudy" (internet blabla) polish now for around 3-4 weeks now ..
I'm still not so good enough to write polish because, its so mutch you have to remember( if I try, there is like 90% grammar failure.. ).
But I can actually read polish very good ^_^
But I have one word i can't figure out how to "compare" it to like . hmm english .. so I can see where I need this word.. I've asked this to a polish friend, but she said that she can't explain/compare it , because its is not word as this in english..

"by" ..
I think it should be similar to
gdybym = If I
Soo .. is that true? that the "by" , is like hm
jesli = if
so , that "by" and "jesli" is similar as "a , i , oraz"?
just another word in a another position of the phrase...

What does this Polish phrase mean in English?

Smutek ma we krwi (a Polish friend wrote it on their Facebook updated status)

I'm about to write to a Polish friend (in English) but wanted to close my email with a nice touch of Polish language :-)

I had a Polish friend, with which I lost contact, and she taught some Polish words. I found it quite interesting! Is there anyone here that knows Polish, or anyone who finds Polish interesting? Is there some way I can learn this language? (I speak many languages, and I know Latin, so Polish it's not hard for me to learn.....I hope!
