do you have any good books i can improve my polish writing skills and talking?

any good books out there to help me learn polish? all my family are polish, as such, but my brother or I were never taught the language.

I have my parents to help me learn, thats fine in terms of practice, but are there any decent books aimed at young people or children?

also, any gcse polish textbooks out there? I was thinking that might be a good basis, and would be aimed at young people.

My wife is Polish and I wanted to get her a couple nice books written in her native language to take with us on vacation. If anyone knows of other good books written in Polish please mention them...I just know she loves sci-fi which is why I narrowed it down to Jacek Dukaj. Cheers!

I am going to start learning Polish by myself, so i wanted to know if there are some good books i could read. thanks! ( don't feel like spending 0 on rosetta stone, but even some audio tapes would help!)
