I just got back from Disney world where my boyfriend got me a shell necklace with my name in arabic written in sharpie on the shell. Its already starting to come off! I thought that clear nail polish would work, but when I practiced on another hard surface the nail polish streaked the sharpie. Acrylic sealer had the same result. Any other ideas that will preserve the writing and won't smudge it?

Tell me :
-Your favourite language
-What Sounds Beautiful
-What Sounds Awful
- least favourite (if any)
i.e.
-My Fav. = Japanese, Thai
-Beauty = Latin, Italian, Thai (Because it sounds cute and the tones sound natural)
-unpleasant sounding = German, Polish (but not Russian -that sounds alright), Cantonese (because it sounds disjointed (to me) But Mandarin feels softer) )
-Least Favourite thing = Hebrew and Arabic (Because when reading the script you have to guess the vowels) or " le + la gender"

I'm asking because I added Polish as a minor to my degree at my university. My mom is freaked and told me I should be more practical and look at learning on of the more in-demand languages like Mandarin// Persian// or Arabic.
I'm asking you to help me persuade her into thinking that it is a well investment. But in all honesty I think it is really beautiful language and could care less if it takes me somewhere. XD
Thank you.

German Japanese Russian Italian Scottish Philipino Scandinavian Egyptian Jewish Polish Native American Pacific Islanders Arabic Indian Turkish Greek Yugoslavian Checz English etc etc. They all do just fine speaking the US National Language and remembering how to Make a good Pizza or Cung Pow Chicken.
Is there something in the water on the Iberian Peninsula, that makes people forget.
Hey Confused:

I work at a well known company, that employees people from all different walks of life shape, size, colour etc. and they are very strict on most things.
However theres about 10 muslims who I work with and a few polish etc... who talk to there self in there own language (including management) even if your the only white/british/english speaker on shift (even though they have good english) but they still choose to speak in arabic which I think is rude and they should be a law against it like you cant smoke etc....
and Im so keen to know what there saying (I know im nosey) but I hate it when they look at people in our work place speak in there laungage then laugh...I so want to say what I think but I cant coz I be sacked...
whats the easiest way to learn basic arabic/punjabi....
