There are several languages besides German, sorry for not being more specific in the question. Before 1914 when Germany, Russia, and Austria-Hungary all occupied the modern day area of Poland, were they not forced to assimilate, or did they fight to keep their culture. I imagine it must of been hard to do things while the rest of the country spoke Russian, German, or the several languages in Austria-Hungary, and not Polish... Basically, how did the Polish language survive?
Here you idiots. Maybe this will help you know Europe before the last 100 years.
If you already speak another language. Do you still have to take 2 years of language in high school in order to make it to certain college? For example i already speak natural Polish & English. Do I still need to take language classes in high school?
I decided when i was half asleep that i was going to start collecting conkers, one every year. and keep them in a big jar.
anyway, i want to label the conkers with the date & maybe the place i got it,
I had the idea to get a small white sticker and write them on that, and stick it on the conker,
what pen could i use that won't run when i paint over it with clear nail polish so it will stay solid and not crumble away, and so the sticker will stay on?
My 1 year old daughter LOVES this song. Can someone tell me what she is saying?

See, I have two books that list the polski alfabet, and they're both different from this YouTube video I've found (it's at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s-vMd_pBks&feature=PlayList&p=8C03C5A0291714DC&index=0 ), and both are different from the alphabet I found at Wikipedia.
The one I found at Wikipedia is:
a ą b c ć d e ę f g h i j k l ł m n ń o ó p r s ś t u w y z ź ż.
Is that the right alphabet? One of my books lists the digraphs ("ch," "cz," "dż," etc.) as letters, but the other one does not, and my other book lists it the same as the Wikipedia one except that there is additionally a "q" and "x."
I see that Wikipedia also claims that there are 7 digraphs, so, those aren't at all in the alphabet as letters then? I mean, there's no "ch" or "cz" in the Polish alphabet, eh?
Could you please write out the correct Polish alphabet for me? Does the YouTube video at least demonstrate the proper pronunciations? I don't know who to trust anymore!
I want to write cheers in Polish to a friend. When we've said it phonetically it sounds like Nostrovia.... Is it spelled Na Zdrowie & is it proper pronunciation?
I was painting my nails last night while talking to my boyfriend & somehow I got green nail polish on the return button on my blackberry! I just realized it & I would really love to get it off! Thanks(:
Well, in October (which is in four months) I might go to Polonia!
& I want to be familiar with the language, & I don't want to make a fool out of myself xD .
I want to learn essensial sentences (I've already learnt some! yaayy! ) .
Anyway, could u please help me & tell me how to learn Polish in four months? I don't want to buy "Rosetta Stone" or something! HiHi = D
By the way I don't want to be fluent in it because I know it's a hard language! ; P
There's this boy at my school who i reeeaaaally like. We've never spoken, but I think he knows i like him (my friends shout it out all the time when he's around). The thing is that he's Polish, so I think it would be slightly embarassing to start off with? He has Facebook but he's hardly ever on it so I can't talk to him on that.
Any ideas on how to start talking & possibly ask him out? (obviously not straight away...we hardly know each other.)
I've always wanted to learn Polish. I've even been practicing for 2 years. The only reason why I want to learn it is because I am Polish. Today I found out that I am only a little Polish. I'm more Russian so I think I should learn that.. I also wanted to learn Polish to speak to my Great Grandma, Friends & my crush.. but maybe by learning Russian I can meet new people...
There's someone who I think likes my boyfriend and they are both Polish but I am American. She wrote to him in Polish & I didn't want to ask him what it says so can someone please translate this for me: "Co to za malzenstwo?" There are websites that translate but they all give me a different answer.... Please help, I don't trust her! Thank you!
I have Rosetta Stone, and am subscribed to many different Blogs and Podcasts that help teach Polish, but I wouldn't mind some real one on one chatting with someone. My son & I are Polish and his dad grew up in Poland so is fluent, I am not but want our son to be. He isn't around very often, so if our son learns it is up to me! Any one want to help??
It's the polish version of Colors of the Wind
&& i Really like it and i want to learn how to sing it.
Does anyone have any help to how i could learn to pronounce
the words in this song?
My friend is directly from Poland. She's having a baby. I would love to surprise her with a memory book in Polish so that she can accurately record her baby's accomplishments. A book in both Polish & English would be awesome!!!!
I've always wanted to see the world and explore it and these to languages stand out to me because the music & their culture seem unique.Do you agree with that?
Are they useful to learn?
And to make it easier I'm gonna take to years of Latin in high school...Do you think that that will help?
