I know in a lot of European countries they take English and a lot of them can hold they're own in English. But I am wondering about Poland, as I may go there for exchange. Do a lot of Polish people speak English? Or not many? I want to be in a sink or swim situation so I can learn Polish better thanks!

You will learn by being there, whether or not they speak English. I did foreign exchange to Germany. People wanted to practice their English with me, but I politely told them I had to speak German. The exception? My host family. That was okay. You will learn. Good luck! Do it! It was one of the best experiences of my life!
Most of them
no unless they just learn it in school it is not a general language
i would guess they dont but maybe they do more in the tourist areas
I suggest you learn it.
But, my Honors English teacher is Polish…that might mean something.
Yes a lot do.
yes i think..
Not alot of them do, unless they learned the general language in school. However, that’s the same as most countries anyway.
i have some family in poland and they can speak a few english
when i went out there no1 could understand me
know what i am ploish and i dont know anthing about what i (should) speak. this makes me think
In the large cities like Warsaw there are a lot of english speaking people. But in the outskirts, small village type towns, they only speak polish.
as in most european countries, english is fairly common – although alot of directional signs and such will probably still be in polish
Most of developed Europe has a high English speaking rate. It is not a national language. But similarly to Spanish in the US it is frequently used, but not an official national language.
No. You really need to study it before you go. I had 4 years of college French, went to France, and it was STILL sink or swim. Also, if I were you I’d pick a country/ language that could be useful in the States, like Spanish. Good luck.
who studied for sure yes:)
