I have Polish heritage and I am really interested in learning how to speak Polish. Are there any books I could maybe get at the library or are there any good websites for free that I could use?
I know John Krasinski (an American actor, he plays Jim in the US version of The Office) is half Polish, but I was just wondering if he speaks any Polish? Does anyone know?
This is how I found the lyrics, sorry (the answer doesn't have to be in all capitals)
ILE JESZCZE MOGĘ ZNIEŚĆ
NIEPEWNOŚĆ OBEZWŁADNIA MNIE
CZEKAM LICZĄC KAŻDY DZIEŃ
W NADZIEI ZE POJAWISZ SIĘ
BYŁAM KIEDYŚ JUŻ O KROK
WYRAŹNIE WYCZUWAŁAM TO
TRAFIŁAM JEDNAK NA TWÓJ CIEŃ
MIMO TEGO CIĄGLE WIEM
KIEDYŚ CIĘ ZNAJDĘ
ZNAJDĘ CIĘ
W KOŃCU ZNAJDĘ
JESTEM CORAZ BLIŻEJ, WIEM
JESTEM CORAZ BLIŻEJ
ILE JESZCZE MOGĘ ZNIEŚĆ
CIERPLIWOŚĆ KIEDYŚ KOŃCZY SIĘ
OSTROŻNIE STAWIAM KAŻDY KROK
TAK ŁATWO JEST POPEŁNIĆ BŁĄD
CZASEM SKRYCIE BOJE SIĘ
ŻE NAGLE MOGĘ MINĄĆ CIĘ
JAK ROZPOZNAĆ ZE TO TY
BĘDĘ SZUKAĆ Z CAŁYCH SIŁ

I heard somewhere that you can dip a cocktail stick in nail varnish and write whatever little word/symbol thing you want, but I tried that and it turned out really bad, the nail varnish won't draw on properly and it goes all blobby and gloopy and then doesn't stay in shape! And I've tried putting less nail varnish on the stick but when I do that it won't even make a mark. Help!
I have a 74 page family history thats written in Polish. Do you know of any type of software that can tranlate it? I'm thinking of a type of thing that would let me scan the pages in and then print out an English translation.

There are several languages besides German, sorry for not being more specific in the question. Before 1914 when Germany, Russia, and Austria-Hungary all occupied the modern day area of Poland, were they not forced to assimilate, or did they fight to keep their culture. I imagine it must of been hard to do things while the rest of the country spoke Russian, German, or the several languages in Austria-Hungary, and not Polish... Basically, how did the Polish language survive?
Here you idiots. Maybe this will help you know Europe before the last 100 years.
I've been in the U.S 8 years. I speak English really well, however, I still have noticeable accent. It's not really a hard one, but still, people do notice it. When, I go out to the bars or clubs to meet women, I don't think having an accent it an advantage, moreover I think it's a disadvantage. I'm a fun and open person, but I don't feel fully comfortable with it. I know it won't disappear by itself, so any help would be appreciated.
