His last name (and now my new one) is Langkowski. My husband's Langkowski side lost all family documentation during WWII when his family members were sent to work camps located in Russia and Poland. We have no record of where the name came from and it is confusing because this is a German family and (as far as they know) have no record of Polish ancestory. Does anyone know what "Langkowski" means? or what region it might be from? Thanks to anyone who can help! I have in mind something like a sofisticated person. Please note tha name has undergone some changes, I went by documents which enumerate the families with names closest to yours and that is what I found.
