Hi,
I am looking for a nice Polish community for a friend who is coming over from Poland in the Summer. She is 24 and speaks little English, therefore, I would like to find her somewhere near lots of other Polish people. Perhaps any Polish girls out there could let me know of their experiences when they first arrived and where they finally settled down.
Many thanks.

Every alien group (legal and illegal) appears to WANT to learn English except Latinos.
If Latinos are catered to by having everything in Spanish, why should they learn English?
Isn't it discriminatory towards others (Polish, Italian, Greek, etc.) that the government makes THEM learn English but not the Latinos?
Why aren't Latinos talking about the rights of others instead of focusing solely on themselves?

Hanna makes her own furniture polish using 25% vinegar and 75% olive oil. Write and solve an equation to determine how much total solution she made if she used 3 cups of olive oil. Show your work.

...when I visited Krakow for 4 months in 2007, I liked watching this soap opera. Though I didn't really understand much, since my Polish language skills are limited. Who sings that beautiful theme song of 'Na Dobre i Na Zle' and what do the words mean?

I was assigned several problems in Algebra 1 for homework. Problem 25 reads:
"A furniture polish is made from turpentine and linseed oil. It has twice as much turpentine as linseed oil. If you want to make 16 fl. oz. of the polish, how much turpentine do you need?
I looked in the back of the book for the answer, and it says I need 10 2/3 fl. oz. How do I write the system of equations?

Well, I'm interested in learning Polish for a couple reasons. I know how difficult it is, so I'm worried it may be too difficult for me! Of course, I'd be prepared to put in the effort and dedication to learn this language, I already know a few words and things. I'm from Britain, so I'm a native English speaker, and I'm still a teenager.
My question: Do you know of anyone who has learned/is learning Polish successfully? How difficult is it?
If you are Polish, how do you feel about someone trying to learn your language? Is it even worth trying?

Tell me :
-Your favourite language
-What Sounds Beautiful
-What Sounds Awful
- least favourite (if any)
i.e.
-My Fav. = Japanese, Thai
-Beauty = Latin, Italian, Thai (Because it sounds cute and the tones sound natural)
-unpleasant sounding = German, Polish (but not Russian -that sounds alright), Cantonese (because it sounds disjointed (to me) But Mandarin feels softer) )
-Least Favourite thing = Hebrew and Arabic (Because when reading the script you have to guess the vowels) or " le + la gender"

I was shopping at ULTA the other day and I was looking at the nail polishes. Some lady and her friend were on my isle and they were talking about how red nail polish is tacky and makes you look cheap. I didn't know there was a stereotype with nail polish. lol

I watched the first season and thought "This seems like something that would be great in the hands of Joss Whedon." The writing could have used some talent, timing, and polish.
I notice this show appears to still be going on into it's ninth season, so it must be doing something right. My question basically boils down to; is it worth soldiering on?

I know it means Teddybear in polish and I was wondering if they would ever do that or if that would be too strange. I'm writing a story and think Mishu sounds pretty but I also want it to be authentic. Thanks.
No it wouldn't be strange?
Sorry I meant Misiu (pronounced mee-shoo)

I'm having difficulty translating this phrase to English, it is as follows:
"Kosałce Naród"
The effect I'm trying to get is similar to a dedication or monument...
It's the title for an art piece.... I'm trying to help my friend translate it. I know it sounds weird, lol
