I have been casually learning Polish for a few years. I am able to get by when in Poland, but I am not fluent. I know a lot of words, but when I am in the states, I get very rusty and have trouble understanding people who speak Polish to me. (When I was in Poland, I could understand more easily) Anyway, I want to take a beginning French class while still studying Polish at home. Will this be confusing for me or make me mix up the grammar with the languages? (I still have trouble with Polish grammar)

There are a fair number of German, Italian and Spanish words, but no Polish words that I am aware of

I think the winner, for me, is the time I heard someone talking about using nail polish remover to clean a piercing, since it has alcohol in it, and alcohol is *shakes head* good for piercings.

Someone gave us a bagful of this tea like substance. It has what I think is Polish writing all over it. The words choroba croncha were hand written on the top of the bag. I think that's what it says. It's hard to tell if it says choroba or chonoba and croncha or cronka.

I have a habit of picking at my finger nails and I believe its due to my ADHD. I pick at them so much that I cant even hold certain things in my hands because they hurt and I really need to break this habit. I'm 18 years old and in college and it makes it hard for me to type and write. I'm a male so putting polish and stuff on my nails is a negative. Any advice besides don't think about your nails?

How did people learn how to speak a language before technology? Because there is a man who learned way too many languages for my capabilities. And way faster too! What's with all the they don't want to assimilate scare tactics. Its just like in the 1920's you would visit a town and everyone would speak Italian but after time they spoke English. Hell I know a few Polish, Italian, & Chinese ppl that are in their 3-4th generation and they still don't speak english, but you only hear about Latinos not learning English. Heck there is China-Town here in Chicago and everything is in Chinese. I find it fascinating and have no problem with it. There are also Polish comminities with huge Polish flags in their front yards and no one complains. But you go to Little Village (ranked 2nd neighborhood in Chicago in Sales Tax revenue next to the Magnificent Mile in Downtown) and everyone is up in arms. Ohh why is there Mexican flag? Why do they speak Spanish?

i am polish and i have always wanted to learn polish but they dont have english to polish dictionarys in stores

he speaks ok english, and i love him and he loves me...any ideas to help make our relationship stronger or to bridge the language barrier?
