What word is it?
The other day i told my mom i was feeling blue and all of a sudden my ipod shuffle played Blue Suede Shoes by Elvis P. and when we got out of the car and went to a shop this women offered to put blue nail polish on my nails and stuff.

It's not Irony or Coincidence.. it's another word, but i can't remember.

I looove hearing the German exchange students speak German because, well, I dunno it's just really cool.

I also like it when my Swedish friend speaks Swedish....

And of course in Chinese, I looove hearing my teacher speak.

And my Civics teacher knows German and Russian really well, and he always speaks some of it and it sounds really awesome!

Oh, and today at the library I heard a lady and her toddler speaking Polish...or I think it was Polish....O_o

It's not written correctly in Polish, so i think it will be kind of hard.

I have been trying to learn Polish language for a year,and I know the alphabet,colours,most animals and fruit and vegetables and basic sentences,but i cannot understand the verbs at all...

Is there anyone that would help explain this to me?

Im planning on going to poland next year and i'm trying to learn the beginning of the language whats the best program to use besides rosetta stone because its to expensive.

o.k im half Polish but i don't speak any, only the odd word and i really, really want to find out the meaning behind my name if it has one but no english site has my name listed and ive tried polish sites using my polish dictionary but its so hard to understand!

I speak Polish very fluently, and can understand over 80% of things my parents/family say. I started to learn Polish as a child, so it isn't my native/primary tounge.

i speak english and it will be a while before i go so i plan on learning a little, but do i really have to be good at it, i also want to visit Ukraine, will i have any problems there.

Somehow the game is in Polish and can't find out how to switch over to English.

I have a Polish colleague at work and she has been teaching me some really basic Polish, however I really want to make the effort to learn it to a good level. I really love learning new things and it seems like a perfect opportunity! Does anyone know of any good programmes / books / audio books?

i cant talk for longer time in english.

im polish by blood and would really lke to learn some of the language, and culture, can u help??

I am thinking about learning to speak Polish, but Im not sure how to go about it. Im not sure I can learn just with the help of books and audio tapes. I think I would do better taking a course or something, but I dont know of any places that offer lessons around me. If anyone has any ideas or knows of any where help me out please! I live in Arizona around the Phoenix area.

Just noticed a site that says Gretzky is of Polish descent. Weird, considering Poles usually write their names with -"ski" spelling if they have such an ending. The "zky" ending seems more like Ukrainian or Bielorussian. Anyone know for sure if Gretzky is Polish or another Slavic background? I'm doing a report on Polish Canadians...need a reference is possible. Thanks.

I'm in high school and learning Spanish, but I REALLY would like to learn Polish (one day I hope to visit a friend who lives in Poland). For now I've just been printing out some basic Polish phrases and travel vocabulary. Does anyone have suggestions for the best way to learn Polish? Should I go to a class, buy a software program... etc. I'm not looking for a quick and easy way, I'd really like to learn the actual language, not just phrases.

So I wanna know what "fajna laseczka" means, I think it's in Polish but I don't know for sure; that's my best guess. I don't even know how to say it! Anways, all this guy would tell me is that it means "nice -----" so now I'm curious. Any help?

I really love to learn foreign languages , therefore, made lots of efforts on those for years.
I can speak Chinese,Portuguese,Japanese at present.
Furthermore,I really want to put my mind to learn eastern european languages ,like Polish,Czech,Bulgarian,and etc.
Is it worthwhile to spend time learning one of those languagues?
What would I benefit from such a learning process?

My parents named my little sister "Nelleke" (my family's part Dutch) - my Polish grandfather died when I was very little, but I do remember him saying that that name sounded a little bit like a word or name for a flower in Polish. Does anyone who knows Polish have any idea what flower he could have been talking about?

Like what I said. I know Hungarian has a lot of cases but they are all agglutinative whereas Polish changes some of the word in order to figure out the case. Could someone who has tried to learn both please give me a good explanation on which is easier?

I was just wondering if there was a place that has movies that work on american dvd players or vcrs. If not are there other alternatives for being able to watch a movie purchased in Poland on an American Dvd player or Vcr? Please help!
