I'm asking for the true polish translation.. not what would work best in relation to the translation from English. I've found "Dom Soli" online however I would like a few confirmations before i set my mind on that being the translation. This is for the name of a business my family is working on. Thanks so much!

I'm an American living in Poland, and I've heard lots of talk about this, some say the Poles are great workers, some say they wish they'd go back home, lots of problems, etc.
I'd like to hear what people living in England have to say, both the Polish and English.

Next time I log on, I'll be looking for online lessons.
Right now, I'm listening to Polish language radio, trying to pick out what words I know, what cognates are similar to Russian or Serb or Latin or Greek.

I need the correct German translation for "Mother" and Polish translation for "Father"
I've looked at several online dictionaries and they all seem to give different answers...I'd like to get a tattoo of this but don't want to be an idiot with the incorrect translation for my parents.
Thank you

I'm currently learning Spanish, but in a few months I'm thinking of starting a new language, and I can't decide between Polish, Turkish or Albanian. I find both languages interesting, yet which one would be a bit easier to learn, if only by a small margin. I find Albanian absolutely facinating, it's Indo-European, yet looks like no other language I've ever seen, it looks really weird.
I feel all 3 of these languages would be worthwhile as all 3 are quickly emerging economies.
No, I'm White British.

Growing up, my mother has always used a word that sounds like Figasmockem. She always used it to answer a question in place of "nothing". For example, if you asked what you were getting for Christmas, she would answer "Figasmockem", meaning nothing.
She said her Polish mother used this word too. I cannot find anything on this. Was it a made-up word?!?! If not, how do you spell it and what is the actual meaning?
THANKS so very much!!

How would i write "do not clean this room" in Polish, in writing so that native Polish speaking people would understand it. I know not all languages translate literally so a phrase that means this would help also. I had little luck finding such a translation on google searches, probably due to certain punctuation marks or characters that the internet could not read. Will some kind person please help me with this?

I know in a lot of European countries they take English and a lot of them can hold they're own in English. But I am wondering about Poland, as I may go there for exchange. Do a lot of Polish people speak English? Or not many? I want to be in a sink or swim situation so I can learn Polish better thanks!
